Millionaire
Today we had a client in our office that got $550 000 000 of pension monies last year. Unfortunately it was Zimbabwe dollars so in reality it was only about R126 000.
The real bad thing about all of this is though that originally (in May 2006) the estimated pay-out in Zim dollars were $150 000 000 but their currency fell so badly (as if it could really get any worse) that in just 3 months, when the actual payment was done, it was $550 000 000.
Scary stuff that. Zimbabwe is close…as in my brother lives only 1 town away from the Zim border. It can so easily spill over to us if we don’t protect ourselves from that.
I sure hope our economy doesn’t get that bad.

Being an Ex Zimbo….With my father still stupid or unlicky enough to be there, I have a whole lot to say about Zims. But certainly agree that Mugabe just has to go – he has desecrated and raped a beautiful country.
Did you watch the news on SABC3 last night? Our inflation is a shocker, so it seems the spill has already crept over the boarder.

Its so scary especially with our food and consumables going up so randomly. I sure do hope that the current government has everything in control so that we dont end up like that.

One thing I know alot of people have learned is that no-one is exempt from the economy affecting them. I hope things get better but make yourself safe and be prepared.

I don’t know a lot about Zimbabwe, but I know that their president is a very hated man. When we went to South Africa, we considered going to Victoria Falls, but Zimbabwe is on the list of counries Americans aren’t supposed to go.
