Quintus is the only kid in his class that has not lost one of his baby teeth. He has been anticipating this day for a long long time.
Last night he called me because he could feel something behind his tooth. Well…his permanent tooth has pushed through his gums but behind his baby tooth. Obviously it then didn’t do anything to get the baby tooth loose and now have both.
I spoke to the dentist this morning and he said we should give it a month in which Quintus must try and wiggle the baby tooth until it comes out by itself. If it does not, he would have to get it pulled.
I don’t want that at all. Look at those teeth. My child has perfect teeth. He has never had to have any work done on them. Imagine his first experience having to have a tooth pulled!

Dylan’s first two teeth were pulled by the dentist because the exact same thing happend - he got his new teeth and his baby teeth just wouldn’t loosen enough for them to come out by themselves! Good Luck, I hope for Q’s sake it loosens!

We are still waiting for Walker’s first tooth to come out. It has been loose now for a month. His very first experience with the dentist was not much better. He has to have a little bit of one filed when he was just two because part of one chipped. Hope it goes well and it falls out on it’s own.

OH I hope he has more luck with his teeth than me. I had perfect teeth until the big ones came in…disaster after that. I even had a ’super numery’ embedded in my gum (inside - couldn’t see it) which they picked up on ex-ray before getting my braces - it’s basically a third middle tooth that shouldn’t be there because it would come done between the other two (and upside down!) necessitating surgery. Give him lots of sticky toffee to work that baby tooth (and the others while he’s at it) loose!! Good luck little dude - and happy birthday!!

Jake had several teeth that did this but none had to be pulled. They all came out just fine on their own!!!

My daughter had the same experience and her first dental visit other than a cleaning consisted of them pulling her tooth. She didn’t even cry and they numb it with a shot so he won’t even feel it. All children have perfect teeth until the permanent ones begin to come in. My daughter had the same thing happen so hopefully you will have a great dentist and it won’t be a problem.

Oh dear, that happened to me… all of my baby teeth ended up being pulled out by the dentist. Hope his start behaving.

Noah is one of the few left in his class that hasn’t lost any also. I haven’t thought about looking to see if there are any adult one behind…I will tonight for sure.

Pulling a baby tooth is nothing, seriously. It will pop right out. If the dentist doesn’t pull it, it could make his adult tooth come in crooked. I would do what the dentist said and give it a month. Lots of apples, sticky candy, etc. If it hasn’t fallen out by then definitely let the dentist pull it.

We had the same thing with Kade and ended up having three teeth pulled. I wrote a piece about it if you want to read it..follow tooth fairy label..it might help. If the wriggling doesn’t help, discuss your options with the dentist and get him to make it fun like mine did with Kade. Kade actually enjoyed his visit and was excited when he had to go back…Good luck to you both of you.

Rachels 2 adult bottom teeth came in behind her baby teeth before they were even loose. the baby ones fell out within the month. I am sure it will be fine.
