Super Mom

Feeling guilty is what our conscience is all about. Letting us know that what we are doing isn’t right in the eyes of the ‘people’. Even when you think it’s okay, you will still feel guilty if it is againt common rules.

I feel extremely guilty when I using the internet at home. I sit with my family, with my laptop but yet I feel guilty. I talk to them, mostly watch or at least follow the programs with them, yet I feel guilty. Why? Because people percieve the internet to be selfish? That it stops someone from communicating with family and friends. I don’t know. I thought about this last night and you know what….I shouldn’t feel guilty.

What is the difference between reading a book / magazine and being online. Isn’t it just reading on the internet? Yes, if you are chatting to other people on the net I can see that it will be different from just reading. I don’t chat to people unless it’s my two friends or my mom but that is very seldom. I normally just catch up on blogs / messageboards.
So why do I feel guilty?
I don’t think I should. Just because the general public thinks I should? No. I don’t agree and from now on I won’t feel guilty lol I will give it my best shot anyway!

  1. I don’t think it is selfish to surf the internet.

Think of it as a little “me-time”.. Time you need to recharge, to unwind, to focus.

Not selfish. The family benefits from it too, because when you are done, they have all of you.

    See, not selfish

Fu-ck the general population in my opinion on a variety of subjects and levels.

I can’t say what you should or shouldn’t do because I live in a glass house and I don’t like a bit of a stone.

I ditto Jane’s comment. Mel you give all and more of yourself to your family.

a little you time is perfectly normal and acceptable, each of us have our own me time, yours is blog surfing. Got to love it, If I had internet at home, I’d do the same.

  4. Don’t feel guilty! You deserve that time for yourself. But I know what you mean, time spent reading blogs seems to go so fast!
