Super Mom

Lazy net

I think the Internet is wonderful and so so funny.  My SIL Maggie and my brother Michael (M&M) came to visit tonight.  We were chatting about Facebook (yes, finally we have also been dragged in by the vicious addiction of Facebook) and how it’s so nice to send each other a bit of a flower or a fish just to know that we are thinking of each other.  Maggie was saying he she was trying to connect to Michael but couldn’t find him.  I found it hilarious since he was sitting right across from her lol

Got me thinking though.  I chat to my mom on MSN during the day.  My office is attached to her house!  I e-mail my dad and he is in the office right next to me!  I pick flowers for my friends or send a fish without so much as lift my butt from my chair.  Very convenient and yet so lazy.

Added to that I absolutely LOVE getting a flower or a gift.  I’m such a sucker for a gift even if it’s a virtual one.  Best is that the flowers don’t die and the fishtank doesn’t go green.  Apparently even my dad is now on Facebook.  I will from now on send him a flower to cheer him up if he had a difficult client lol

Oh the internet…good and bad.

  1. I’ve been hearing from other bloggers about this Facebook and how it’s becoming pretty popular. Is it like Myspace? I’m on that and it’s so addicting:0

Yes all this technology does make one sort of lazy;)

  5. Okay… I have to say I have never heard of facebook but you have me intrigued enought to check it out. Though the internet makes all of us a little lazier it has also enabled me to keep in touch alot more. It is quite easy just to send a quick e-mail to say “just thinking of you and thought you should know. I keep in touch with friends that I haven’t seen in 10 years. A hand written note does go a long way and every once in awhile I find myself writing one.

  6. I haven’t tried face book yet. I thought it was all college kids and younger. What’s the average age of those on it?

I think the internet is great. For me it keeps me in contact with people across the world and especially at home. I love that I can send you or other friends a comment or fish or flower to let them know I am thinking of them. So internet is a yes from me.
