Rugby

Last night the South African rugby team beat Argentina in the semi-finals of the rugby world cup.  We are going through to the finals as an unbeaten side.

The boys and I had so much fun watching the rugby last night.  It only started at 9 pm.  I know.  Late for a 7 year old to be awake and watch rugby but there was absolutely no way I would have been able to stop him from watching.

Quintus and I can’t watch rugby quietly.  We shout at the linesmen who should be home knitting rather than being involved in world cup rugby.  We shout at the referee. Other rugby players.  Get upset when the TMO gives a try that clearly was not.  We give high fives and run around the room when we score a try.  We would actually make a good home made movie.  We go ballistic.

This while Zander and Jason is trying to sleep in the same room.  With every try Zander would sit up straight and say “bal bal” (ball ball) in this fast asleep voice.  He will look at the TV, fall over and sleep again.  Jason will not even get out from under his duvet but just ask if we are still ahead lol

To all the South African supporters (and I won’t name names lol) who has been saying we aren’t good enough to win, right from the start – 😛  In my opinion one should not support a team that you don’t have faith in.  Either stand behind your team or don’t watch.

WTG Springboks.  Oh and to Brian Habana who has now equalled the record of Jona Lumu for the most tries in a World Cup.

  3. Glad you watched :). I’ve been ripped to shreds at work because I was blog-hopping instead of watching. In my defense, I could hear what was happening.

  4. Griff and I were watching too. He is exhausted today but it was worth it.

Griffin is so cute he holds his thumbs while waiting for Percy to kick and says quietly, ‘Come on Purse, you gotta do it’. He gets very upset if François Steyn takes the ball proclaiming ‘No! He can’t kick! Give it to Percy!’ 😉
