Clutter

I can’t like clutter.  I just can’t.  However I live with  a family that likes clutter it seems.  They men in my life won’t allow me to throw away anything.  They get anxiety attacks when I start sorting things out.  I’ve been known to have stuff taken out of my hands with force to prevent me from getting rid of it.

Where I am allowed to declutter though is my e-mail.  I don’t keep e-mails.  I don’t.  If it has to do with work, I save that mail in the client’s folder and off it goes.  Deleted.  If I could, my inbox would be empty when I leave work.  Not just the inbox but also sent and deleted items.

When I’m overworked as I am at the moment though, I just run through my mail quickly and attend to only the most important.  It stresses me out like you can’t believe!  Tonight before leaving work, I got to work through most of the mail and I felt such a sense of relieve!  One would think finishing of a set of financial statements or reducing that huge pile of tax forms would do that.  No.  Cleaning up my inbox does.

Sjoe.  I am not well.

  1. I think you would come something over if you had to see our Outlook Express. No less than 2075 emails in our various folders. There are many I just can’t part with, including some sent to me by a friend that has since died.

  2. I feel the same way Mel. Decluttering is a cleansing experience. I have tried to throw things out and then I find it later in the hiding place my husband put it in.

  8. I’m impressed. I hate clutter too, but I think I’m secretly a pack rat-but I don’t want to be. My inbox is hopelessly cluttered.

Ahhh… i totally feel your pain. I am forced to sneak around to declutter a small bit at a time so that it isn;t noticed.
The worst thing is boxes! My husband must keep boxes for everything! TV box, vidoe camera box, shoe box…everything! Grrrrr….
