Super Mom

I’m not ready

I just read Randi’s blog and she was talking about Christmas being a week away.  Seriously?  I am NOT into Christmas mood at all yet.  Not at all.  This is not me.  Christmas is my favourite time of the year and this year – nothing.  I haven’t even bought any Christmas presents yet!

I think it is because everyone is still working and still so busy!!! I started on the weekend but the bloody shops are so busy, I wasn’t there for very long, so I will go and finish during the week. I must say I am now starting to get some Christmas cheer although I am just far to exhausted at this point in time to really bother!!! You will see the closer it gets to Christmas the more spirit you will have!!!

Take care and love to all!

I hear you! I casually mentioned perhaps, since we aren’t christians, we might not celebrate christmas next year, and just do a big new years thing…WELL…the kids almost rioted *What about Santa?*, sheesh forgot about Santa…guess that will have to wait till the santa secret is out!
    Happy Shopping!!

  9. One year I waited until the week before Christmas to do anything. It was a blast. The sales were incredible and John and I did it all in one day.

Can your parents keep the kids? Can you and your husband just take a day and do nothing but Christmas?

  10. I just started and finished this week! I just can not get into the holiday mood this year.

Partly because it is 85 degrees here I guess.

I have always loved Christmas, and this year it was pulling teeth to get the tree up.

Oh my. I am NOT the only one way behind. What a relief!
This came aross the screen here 🙂 :

    A Mom’sChristmas

It was the night before Christmas, when all through the abode
Only one creature was stirring, and she was cleaning the commode.
The children were finally sleeping, all snug in their beds,
While visions of Nintendo and Barbie, flipped through their
    heads.

The dad was snoring in front of the TV,
With a half-constructed bicycle on his knee.

So only the mom heard the reindeer hooves clatter,
Which made her sigh, “Now what’s the matter?”
With toilet bowl brush still clutched in her hand,
She descended the stairs, and saw the old man.
He was covered with ashes and soot, which fell with a shrug.
“Oh great!!” muttered the mom, “Now I have to clean the rug.”

    “Ho-Ho-Ho!!” cried Santa, “I’m glad you’re awake.
Your gift was especially difficult to make.”
“Thanks, Santa, but all I want is some time alone.”
“Exactly!!” he chuckled, “I’ve made you a clone.”
“A clone?” she asked, “What good is that?
Run along, Santa. I’ve no time for chit-chat.”

    It was the mother’s twin.
Same hair, same eyes, same double chin.
“She’ll cook, she’ll dust, she’ll mop every mess.
You’ll relax, take it easy, watch the Young and the Restless.”
“Fantastic!!” the mom cheered. “My dream come true!
I’ll shop. I’ll read. I’ll sleep a whole night through!”

From the room above, the youngest began to fret.
“Mommy?!? I’m scared, and I’m wet.”
The clone replied, “I’m coming, sweetheart.”
“Hey,” the mom smiled, “She knows her part.”
The clone changed the small one, and hummed a tune,
As she bundled the child, in a blanket cocoon.

“You’re the best mommy ever. I really love you.”
The clone smiled and sighed, “I love you, too.”
The mom frowned and said, “Sorry, Santa, no deal.
That’s my child’s love that she’s trying to steal.”
Smiling wisely Santa said, “To me it is clear,
Only one loving mother is needed here.”

The mom kissed her child, and tucked her into bed.
“Thank you, Santa, for clearing my head.
I sometimes forget it won’t be very long,
When they’ll be too old, for my cradle-song.”
The clock on the mantle began to chime.
Santa whispered to the clone, “It works every time.”

With the clone by his side, Santa said, “Good night.
Merry Christmas, Mom. You’ll be alright.”

I’m also so not ready, but just do it we must.
Today I finished buying all presents for my new HUGE family – I tell you its a chore.

The girls put up the tree, decorations, lights and all last weekend, but still it doesn’t seem real.

Just waiting for Graig and mom to come, then my heart will be whole again. It has been a LOOOOONNNNGGG traumatic 6 weeks.

Hell it is scary to know that Christmas will all be over, done and dusted, this time next week.

Wishing the De Bruyns a lekker Christmas – all the best and wishes of cheer.
