Driving in South Africa

It is pretty dangerous driving in our country.
You have hijackers. People driving without licences. Drunk drivers. Taxi’s Non-roadworthy vehicles. Speeding. Pedestrians. The odd cow and chicken too.

The worst though. The absolute worst is the potholes. Warnings next to the road to warn about the potholes that never get fixed.

Driving to Drakensberg this week saw me looking like a drunk on the road. Swerving into the oncoming traffic lane. Off the road. All to miss holes big enough to hide the odd animal.

They should add a special chapter in the driving education book on how to handle potholes.

Try to drive in our province in spring. ;D The biggest pothole I saw last spring Within our city would have fit a car or two (about 3 metres deep and 4 -5 m in Diameter)- no kidding. But they fixed those huge holes at least.
Wishing you a road repair crew.
