Super Mom

On the beach

We have put our feet in the sea. We have touched the sand. The boys have swam. We are at the sea.

Zander put his feet on the sand and almost the same instance turned around and started taking off his shirt. He just wanted to get into that water.

The road down here was just fine. Until Tommie could smell the sea and started pushing my the speed limits. Then we almost ran out of diesel and that made the last 40 minutes even more pleasant.

That was all forgotten as soon as we put our feet on that sand. Beautiful soft sea sand. There just is something magical about seeing the sea. Watching those waves break.

We almost didn’t make this trip down here though. We spent two hours last night looking for our new puppy. Shouting, calling, begging. Up and down the streets. All over. We decided that at 11:30 pm there was nothing more we could do and as we got into bed, that little one crawled out from behind the bed. Clearly just woken up from a deep sleep. We were very relieved and thankful. Though also pretty ticked off that he ignored all our calling!

The flat we are staying in has a lovely view of the ocean. It’s in a quiet ‘non-holiday’ type of town. The boys have loads of beach to run up and down and shout to their hearts content.

Tonight I want to get loads of sleep and wake up tomorrow…with the sun rising over the ocean.

  4. OH gosh. A holiday. That would be awesome right now. Funny how the sea is *right* here, and yet I hardly ever go. Something about muggers that puts me off. Maybe a beach near a small town would be a better bet, as opposed to these ‘big city’ beaches here.
