Super Mom

White winged Flufftail

Jason went on a birding trip to Dullstroom with my dad (and his school headmaster) this weekend.

They went to see – or hoped to see – a White winged Flufftail.  It’s an extremely rare bird to see.  So much so that 50/50 was there on their search for this bird.

There were 103 birders(some as far as Cape Town), from 80 years old to Jason, the youngest at 8 years old.

Of the 103 birders, only 3 didn’t see the rare bird.  Poor Jason is one of the three.  My dad says he had such big tears in his eyes.  My heart is so sore for him.

He did manage to see other lifers though.  I’m really glad since it did help some with the disappointment of not seeing the Flufftail.
