Super Mom

Teachers

THANK YOU FOR HARD WORK, QUINTUS.  BE ALWAYS THE KIND BOY THAT YOU ARE.

And that he is.  He is a kind boy.  A gentle soul.

He loves this teacher.  He did well in English. It was one of his strongest subjects last year.  She treats the children with respect and in return she is respected.  One of the favourite teachers in school.

This year, Quintus is with, let’s call her Miss Rottenmeier.  The very first day he walked into her classroom, she looked at the little redhead boy and decided that he must be naughty.  By default he falls into the “Trompie” category.  How totally wrong she is.

It’s not just him however.  It seems as though she doesn’t like any child.  They all complain about her.  His grades dropped the very first term already.  Heck, the first test!

She likes to send parents text messages (which I actually appreciate) but NOT if SHE SCREAMS IN CAPITAL LETTERS. She totally knows that she is doing that, since she always signs of with “Mrs Rottenmeier”

Teacher have such a huge influence on children.  More than they know.  To them, the kids are just another child.  To me, it’s MY child.

Wonder how well kids will do if all teachers managed to see the ‘kindness’ in a child, like his Grade 4 teacher did.

  2. Dis ongelukkig so dat daar sulke onderwysers ook is. Rooikop het ook so ongeskikte een gehad so twee jaar terug.

  3. Oh Melany – this made me so sad for Quintus, you, and the rest of the kids. I will never understand why people who do not like children go into teaching. I have certainly met my fair share. And you are right – they do have such an impact on the children in their care. Thank God that Quintus is blessed enough to have such a good mama – and other wonderful adults that pour into his life and let him know how great he is.
