Super Mom

Decisions

Seriously, with so many days and so many hours, how is it possible that two important things can fall on the exact same time?

Quintus loves rugby (no shock there, right)

He also sings well.  He has a stunning voice.  This said not by my very own self but by the clever people at North-West Musikon.  They put together a choir with kids from all the schools in Klerksdorp.  Not a big choir either.  Clearly just those kids who can really sing well.  Quintus was told that he has an amazing voice.  He was so excited.  So happy to be in a choir again.

Then the sad news today…..choir practice is on exactly the same time as his rugby practice.  No bets on what won…..

He cried all the way back to school though.  He SO badly wanted to be in the choir.  How is it possible that the universe can do this to a child?  Why not just on a different day.  At a different time 😦

I’m very proud of him for being chosen in the first place though.

Another cool thing is that he was chosen with 14 other kids from his school to make a CD with all the songs they are going to perform in their school revue.  So neat 🙂

I feel very sorry for him I know how much he wanted it. He even asked me to play scales on the piano so he could practice his notes. You should be very proud of your boys xxx. Give him a hug from me. Xxx

  2. I think the school’s reasoning behind scheduling the choir in the same time slot as the rugby, is that few people who are interested in the one, do not often practice the other.
Sorry to hear that he can’t practice both culture and sports together due to this scheduling.

If it was only the school choir, I don’t think it would have been this upsetting to him. However it’s the town choir. Just the best from each school 😦 So heartbroken for him. The thing is that ALL schools in our town schedule sports on Tuesdays and Thursdays and culture on Mondays and Wednesdays, so that they don’t overlap. Pity the town choir can’t do the same…;.
