High School

I am busy filling an application form.

For high school.

For Quintus.

The one who went to grade R last year. Remember when I couldn’t decide if he was ready for Grade R?

Well, he was.

He is also ready for high school. Totally looking forward to it.

Anyway, two things hit me while completing the form.

1. They ask for his cellphone number even before mine.
2. They ask (more than once) which parent he lives with.

Times have changed.

Weren’t parents the only ones with phones and weren’t most parents supposed to be married forever?

Times have changed.  A lot.

Just like my son, who is looking forward to leaving behind his primary school and moving on.

  1. I started looking at the application process for Cameron for high school! Pretoria Boys has a waiting list so I need to be organised because it is our only option!

We are lucky in that we don’t have waiting lists. I just don’t want to leave it too late and then by chance he doesn’t get a place there (especially since we live 3 houses from the school!!)

    • In what Grade is Cameron now? Should I start my application or is grade 1 too soon?

  3. I experienced the same thing – but this is a primary school application form asking for Logan’s email and cell number. Madness!
